...there is no shortage of registry cleaners on the market today. The general concepts behind a registry cleaner are so simple and well known that any competent programmer can create a functioning registry cleaner in a matter of hours.

The Windows Registry is basically a large database of information about your computer and the software that is installed on it. To get some idea of the scope of the registry, here is a brief list of the type of things that are stored in the Windows Registry:

    · Settings for Internet Explorer, and most applications that are installed on your computer.
    · Configuration data about the physical hardware in your computer.
    · User account settings, display settings, security settings, and most other Windows configuration information.
    · Lists of programs and services that automatically start when you turn on your computer.
    · Information about the DLL files and ActiveX controls that are installed on your computer.
    · Computer usage history, such as recently opened files.

The above is a small glimpse into what the registry is used for. It contains so much data, and is used so often that the registry is often a bottleneck for performance and speed on your computer. As the name suggests, a registry cleaner cleans the registry. Data is put into the registry far more often that it is taken out. As a result, the registry becomes bogged down and slower to access. This in turn slows down (to an extent) the performance of your computer.

A registry cleaner looks through your registry looking for information that references or describes programs and files that no longer exist on your computer. It then removes these entries, thereby cleaning out your registry. FalconSweep also uses this concept, with one important difference: FalconSweep knows what is safe to remove, and what isn’t.

A common marketing practice used to sell registry cleaners is to have a high problem count. Many of our competitors will find several thousand problems in your registry by having a much broader definition as to what is considered a problem and what isn’t. This is an extremely dangerous practice, as it puts the integrity of your registry at risk by removing thousands of entries that may still be needed and used. FalconSweep typically removes between 500 and 1000 unnecessary registry entries – all of which have been determined by our proprietary registry scanning engine to be safe to remove. FalconSweep focuses on accurately identifying registry entries that can truly be safely removed, not ‘WOWing’ our customers with high problem counts. The software engineers behind our registry scanning engine have been in the registry cleaner business since 2001, and have used their knowledge and experience to create the safest and most effective registry cleaner on the market.

You will often see registry cleaners referred to as the brain of your computer. The Windows Registry is as important to your computer as your own brain is to your own well-being. Don’t trust the Windows Registry to just ANY registry cleaner. The advanced safety technology built into FalconSweep will ensure that your registry is cleaned safely and effectively.
